Varsóvia não estava na "minha rota" de destinos a conhecer, não fosse o aniversário de um amigo acho que nunca a iria colocar na minha "bucket list".
É uma cidade bonita qb onde a arquitectura moderna se funde com a arquitectura antiga e o que vemos hoje é um magnífico trabalho de reconstrução segundo os planos originais pós destruição da Segunda Guerra Mundial.
A "cidade velha" foi uma das minhas zonas favoritas, os detalhes arquitectónicos das casas, a praça principal com a pista de gelo e os pequenos mercados de rua eram uma delicia.
Tal como em Paris que em qualquer ângulo se vê a Torre Eiffel, em Varsóvia o Palácio da Cultura e Ciência é um edifício imponente mandado construir por Estaline e que já foi um dos edifícios mais altos do Mundo, no entanto, ao contrário doutros marcos arquitectónicos, noutras capitais europeias (como a torre Eiffel, em Paris, ou a torre do relógio do parlamento britânico, o famoso "Big Ben", em Londres), o arranha-céus polaco está longe de ter o apreço generalizado dos habitantes do país. Corre acerca dele todo um conjunto de piadas e trocadilhos, que vão desde o intitular de palhaço (pajac em polaco, foneticamente próximo de pałac, palácio) até se afirmar que do seu topo se tem a melhor vista sobre a capital, precisamente por ser aí o único local, em muitos quilómetros, onde não é possível avistar o próprio palácio. Inclusive começaram a construir grandes edifícios em volta do Palácio para que desta maneira se deixe de ver o edifício do Palácio.
O que mais gostei em Varsóvia foi sem duvida o design de toda a restauração, cuidada, com bom gosto e a singularidade dos detalhes.

- Der Elefant o restaurante tem vários níveis e com interiores históricos modernizados e a sua aparência e ambiente é uma reminiscência da cidade de Nova Iorque, a gastronomia é basicamente marisco, mediterrâneo e europeia.
- Vapiano excelente para brunch ou almoço com gastronomia maioritariamente italiana, já conhecia o conceito quando visitei o Qatar.
- Hala Koszyki o conceito é igual ao Time Out Market de Lisboa, um mercado com diversos restaurantes, tapas bar, bares, creperias e gelaterias. Há varias opções para comidas o que é fantástico.
Para beber um aperitivo e maravilhar-se com as vistas é de ir sem duvida ao Panorama Sky Bar o rooftop no Hotel Marriot.
Se vão com ideia de se divertir pela noite fora o The View é o espaço nocturno a considerar, situado no top do edifício Spectrum Tower tem uma vista fantástica e de verão o espaço é todo aberto. De inverno achei o espaço um pouco claustrofóbico e o facto de estar no topo do edifício ainda me causou mais "ansiedade".
Para beber um aperitivo e maravilhar-se com as vistas é de ir sem duvida ao Panorama Sky Bar o rooftop no Hotel Marriot.
Se vão com ideia de se divertir pela noite fora o The View é o espaço nocturno a considerar, situado no top do edifício Spectrum Tower tem uma vista fantástica e de verão o espaço é todo aberto. De inverno achei o espaço um pouco claustrofóbico e o facto de estar no topo do edifício ainda me causou mais "ansiedade".
A temperatura rondou sempre entre os 0º e os 4º graus durante o dia e 0º a -4º graus à noite, suportável mas frio (sou suspeita pois não sou muito friorenta).
No geral gostei da cidade, principalmente a parte mais antiga da cidade que me deliciou pela arquitectura, é um destino barato as refeições rondaram sempre entre os 15/20€ e em restaurantes considerados “premium” os 25/50€ (muito semelhante a Portugal), as entradas nas discotecas são 10€ e as bebidas rondam entre os 5/8€.
Ficamos hospedados no Novotel com pequeno almoço incluído a diária rondou os 65€.
Na minha opinião não considero que explorem o turismo no seu auge, os bus turísticos não são frequentes, em muitos sítios não falam Ingles e regra geral são muito frios e antipáticos.
Venho de uma zona que trabalha maioritariamente com estrangeiros/turismo e como somos um povo caloroso e naturalmente simpático fez me um pouco de confusao a "frieza" e indiferença (apesar disto encontramos em vários sítios polacos simpáticos e profissionais).
Varsóvia na Primavera é mais fácil de aproveitar a cidade visto não estar tanto frio e podemos aproveitar mais o ambiente de rua e os rooftops.

Warsaw was not on my "destination route", if it was not for a friend's birthday I think I would never put it on my "bucket list".
It is a beautiful city where modern architecture merges with ancient architecture and what we see today is a magnificent reconstruction work according to the original plans after the destruction of World War II.
The "old town" was one of my favorite areas, the architectural details of the houses, the main square with the ice rink and the small street markets were a delight.
As in Paris, at any angle, you can see the Eiffel Tower, in Warsaw, the Palace of Culture and Sciences it is an imposing building built by Stalin and with was on the past one of the tallest buildings in the World, but unlike other architectural landmarks , in other European capitals (such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Clock Tower of the British Parliament, the famous "Big Ben" in London), the Polish skyscraper is far from having the widespread appreciation of the inhabitants of the country. A whole series of jokes and puns runs from him to the title of clown (pajac in Polish, phonetically close to pałac, palace) until it is said that from the top there is the best view of the capital, precisely because it is there the only place in many kilometers, where it is not possible to see the palace itself. They even started building large buildings around the Palace so that they would not see the Palace building.
What I liked most in Warsaw was undoubtedly the design of all the restoration, cared for, with taste and the uniqueness of the details.
I recommend:
- Stixx Bar Grill restaurant and bar/disco with Asian gastronomy, Central Europe, grill, steakhouse and international
- Der elefant the restaurant has several levels and with modernized historical interiors and its look and feel is reminiscent of New York City, the cuisine is basically seafood, Mediterranean and European.
- Vapiano is excellent for brunch or lunch with mostly Italian cuisine, I already knew the concept when I visited Qatar.
- Hala Koszyki the concept is similar to Time Out Market of Lisbon, a market with several restaurants, tapas bar, bars, creperie and ice cream shops. There are several food options which is fantastic.
To drink an aperitif and be stonned by the views you must go without doubt to Panorama Sky Bar the rooftop at the Marriott Hotel.
If you want to have fun and dance The View is the night space to consider, situated at the top of the building Spectrum Tower has a fantastic view and in the summer the space is all open. I found the space a bit claustrophobic and the fact that it was at the top of the building still caused me more "anxiety".
The temperature always ranged from 0 ° to 4 ° during the day and 0 ° to -4 ° at night, bearable but cold (I am suspect because I am not very cold person).
Overall I liked the city, especially the oldest part of the city that I was delighted by the architecture, it is a cheap destination the meals always ranged between 15/20€ and in restaurants considered "premium" 25/50 € (very similar to Portugal ), the tickets in the discotheques are 10 € and the drinks are around 5/8 €.
We stayed at the Novotel with breakfast included the daily rate was 65 €.
In my opinion I do not consider that they work that well the tourism, touristic bus are not very often on the day, in many places they do not speak English and Polish are bit "cold and unfriendly" pepole.
I come from an area that works mostly with foreigners/tourists and we are a warm and naturally friendly people it made me a bit of confusion the "coldness" and indifference (although we found it in several polish friendly and professional ... but not that many).
Warsaw in the spring is easier to enjoy the city as it is not so cold and we can enjoy more the street environment and the rooftops.
